Heat Exchanger Based

Honeywell’s range of pressurized SS 304 systems is designed for small domestic as well as commercial installations ranging from individual housing to apartments, hotels and other commercial buildings, where good quality water is available either from a municipal supply or local water treatment provisions are available.

The systems are designed to withstand a working pressure of 5 bar (1 bar = 1.019 kg/cm2) with a testing pressure of 7 bar. These are in-direct heating systems with an in-built coil type heat exchanger within each hot water tank. The pressurized system is designed only to withstand pressurized water, it does not generate any pressure on its own.

The water in the heat exchanger flows in a closed loop between the collectors and the heat exchanger, working under natural flow or thermosiphon principle. The water in the heat exchanger transfers the heat to the cold water inside the solar water heater tank, which exits from the outlet to the point of use.

Since the water in the heat exchanger flows in a closed loop, it is susceptible to water loss through evaporation. This water loss is topped up through a small make up installed next to the solar water heating system, connected to the heat exchanger.

The SS 304 inner tank is manufactured with the right thickness to withstand the water pressure entering into the tank. The tolerance limits for water quality are 50 ppm for Ca and Mg and 10 ppm for Chlorine.

The SS 304 inner tank is insulated with 50 mm PUF insulation, followed by an outer cladding of white color powder coated steel sheets. The side dish is in Honeywell red. The tank is mounted on a MS stand, designed to withstand the weight of the fully filled tank.
